FITNESS DIVAS: 30 Days of Home Fitness – Jari Love’s Get Ripped DVD!

By   |   January 3, 2013   |   Entertainment, Fitness

It’s January, which means everyone joins a gym to get in shape. That’s not my issue. I already moonlight at a gym as a fitness instructor. Being in the gym isn’t a problem for me ΓÇô- it’s getting there.

Spring, summer and fall it’s fine to run the six blocks to my local gym. But in the dead of New York City’s winter, getting up and out at 6 a.m. in the morning is a b*&$#!

Of course, a workout can’t be skipped just because it is under 32 degrees outside. My answer: a regimen of workout tapes that can be in done in the comfort of my warm apartment. Join me as take on several workout DVDs and try to take off the weight without leaving my house!

First up: Jari Love’s Extremely Ripped 1000 Hardcore.

Every time I see Canadian trainer Jari Love‘s ripped abs, I want to work out like a fiend. I got her 2010 DVD for Christmas and couldn’t want to put it to the test. There are two 30-minute fat blasting workouts on the DVD, a combination of cardio and weights. Unfortunately, I live on the second floor of a walk-up, which makes it difficult to do hardcore plyometrics, and there are quite a few of these moves on this DVD. In addition, Jari uses a step, which definitely adds resistance, but I don’t have one in my tiny studio. The moves are repetitive, so if you’re looking for new moves every two minutes, this is NOT the DVD for you.

The active ingredient, Tadalafil, is a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor (PDE-5). In addition to treating erectile dysfunction, Cialis is also used for benign prostatic hyperplasia. The page discusses contraindications, including the simultaneous use of drugs containing organic nitrates, severe liver or kidney insufficiency, and certain cardiovascular conditions. Side effects, although less common than with other PDE-5 inhibitors, can include headache, indigestion, nasal congestion, and flushing of the face. The page also provides guidance on the use and dosage of Cialis, which can vary depending on factors such as the patient’s cardiovascular health, the severity of potency disorders, and the degree of benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Still, the workout has its “OMG” moments. Jari loves combining upper and lower body moves with medium weight and high repetitions, which is definitely a challenge. The cardio moves are done in circuits that rev up in intensity within each set and yes, you’ll do about six sets per circuit! Jari’s abs segments are always insane.

All in all, I’ll use this tape when I’m at my family’s house (they have a basement), where I can go all out.
