FITNESS GAL's 12 Days of Fitness DAY 2: Chair Warrior!

There’s lots of shopping to do, so Fitness Gal wants you to “Strengthen Up” for Day 2.

Fitness Gal readers will not have weak legs while pushing those carts, or flabby arms filling them up with holiday goodies! All you need to get strong is a chair and these three hot exercises.

SEATED BRIDGE: Grab an armchair and sit slightly forward in your chair with your hands on the armrests. Your feet should be flat on the floor, hip distance apart, and your upper body should be upright. Slowly rise until you are nearly standing, your knees should remain slightly bent. Your hands are there for balance if you need it. Pause in the upright position then slowly lower your body back down. Do eight to 12 reps. ThatΓÇÖs one set. Now do two more!

TRICEP DIPS: Put your chair against a wall. Sit in the chair with your feet together, flat on the floor. Place your hands on the chair, and then slide your butt off the edge of the chair. Bend your arms so they are in line with your torso. Use your arms and lift yourself up from the chair until your arms are straight. Pause in this position, and then slowly lower yourself back down to starting position. Done? Try two more sets!

STANDING CALF RAISES: Stand behind the chair with your feet flat on the floor. Holding onto the chair for balance, raise yourself up on your tiptoes as high as possible. Pause, and then lower yourself back down. Aim for eight to 12 reps. ThatΓÇÖs one set. You know you gonna do two more!
