By The DivaGals | July 4, 2025 | Celebrity & Culture, Diva Approved
Alright, DivaGals! Your weekend watch list just got a Gal Approved upgrade! This July 4th weekend, we’re going for action, adventure and a whole lot of star power. Get your snacks ready, because these three are officially on the docket!
The Old Guard 2 (Netflix)
Our favorite immortal crew is back in action! Kiki Layne returns, fighting alongside Charlize Theron, who leads the charge in The Old Guard 2, which hit Netflix on July 2. If you loved the first one’s blend of gritty action, found family and super-powered drama, you’re in for another wild ride. Expect more epic fights, emotional moments and Uma Thurman stirring up a whole lotta immortal trouble.
Heads of State (Prime Video)
Forget your diplomatic dinners, because John Cena and Idris Elba are teaming up as the US President and UK Prime Minister, respectively, in this action-comedy that just dropped on Prime Video July 2. With Priyanka Chopra Jonas as an MI6 agent, you know there’s going to be plenty of global intrigue and probably some truly hilarious banter. If you’re looking for explosions, espionage and a good laugh, this is your jam.
Jurassic World: Rebirth (In Theaters)
Dinosaurs are back, baby! And they’re not messing around. Jurassic World: Rebirth stomped into theaters July 2, bringing Mahershala Ali, Scarlett Johansson, Wicked‘s Jonathan Bailey and into the dino-mite mix. Five years after the events of Dominion, it’s a whole new world, and the stakes are higher than ever. Prepare for edge-of-your-seat thrills and some seriously impressive creature design. Don’t forget your popcorn, though you might drop it when the T-Rex roars!
So, there you have it: your perfect patriotic weekend movie marathon is set. Which one are you diving into first? Let me know what you think!
