GAL APPROVED! ABCΓÇÖs New TV Shows to Watch This Fall!
By Maureen Martin | May 15, 2013 | EntertainmentThe ABC fall season is about family …┬á dysfunctional families that will be the “New Normal.”
The Goldbergs (Tuesdays, 9 p.m.) It’s dysfunctional funny family Part I. Set in the ’80s, this sitcom is full of “awkward” family moments. Some are cute, some are cringe worthy — and most of it is caught on a huge video camera of the precocious baby brother.
Trophy Wife (Tuesdays, 9:30 p.m.) Awkward dysfunctional family, Part II, is about a MILF, played by Malin Akerman, who marries twice-divorced Bradley Whitford, and then has to deal with his two ex-wives and their kids. Her tattas and cute butt are of course the butt of many predictable jokes.
Super Fun Night (Wednesdays, 9:30 p.m.) We know we’re going to love this laughfest starring Australian comic actress Rebel Wilson, in yes, all her politically incorrect glory. Three BFFs/wallflowers unleash their quirky madness on the cities hot spots as they try to find love and experience the world beyond their apartments. They are cute, pudgy and brilliant, but not quite ready to get behind the velvet rope. You are going to laugh and root for this dorky trio of goofy singletons, which blends the gross out comedy of Bridesmaids with a touch of The Hangover. This gem is produced by off-humor mastermind Conan O’Brien.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Tuesdays, 8 p.m.) & Once Upon a Time In Wonderland (Thursdays, 8 p.m.) These shows will give you your double dose of fantasy and special effects. Once Upon a Time In Wonderland will open up Thursday’s “power woman” night followed by returning favorites Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal.
Resurrection (Midseason) Get your sci-fi fix with a paranormal drama about two people who return to their families — 30 years after their death. It gave me chills and will have me glued to the set.
What’s really new? ABC and the other networks want to dominate not just prime time, but your DVR and your mobile devices. Next season you will be able to watch what you like, whenever you like and on all of your favorite devices because ABC has an app for that!
