SEE. Love. Marriage. Divorce. Yep,they can all make you crazy. Star Steve Carell‘s life falls apart when his wife, Julianne Moore, asks for a divorce. He buddies up to a womanizer played by Ryan Gosling, and gets a Clueless makeover that that takes him from chick repellent to euro-chic woman magnet (the one-liners that come out of this alone are worth the ticket price!). Steve has perfected the puppy dog-eyed “why don’t you love me?” look, and we like it. Of course, every one-night stand in life comes with a price, which leads to several of the plot’s twists. Other cast standouts are Emma Stone as a law student who catches Ryan’s character’s roving eye. Incidentally, she is having the career that makes us wonder what would have happened to Lindsey if she hadn’t chosen drugs over her work. Eye-opening? An unlikable and sleazy Kevin Bacon. Other highlights? How about Ryan’s eight pack? They deserve their own movie! The movie’s inappropriate romances were a little cringe-worthy at times, but overall this is a definite must-see. And since our screening was sponsored by WBLS, we mean this movie is for everyone! Crazy, Stupid, Love opens nationwide today. (Luxe Gal)

SMURF. Our Music Gal Krystal “Clear” Whyms puts the spin on the new Smurfs movie. Read about it here.

SUPPORT. All the DivaGals love to buy shoes and handbags. And we’re absolutely tickled pink when our splurges support a good cause. So was the case when we visited the Upper East Side location of Furla, the world-renowned leather goods brand. The storefront had opened its doors to Black Girls Rock!. Armed with mimosas, nibbles and amazing makeovers by Sue Devitt makeup, guests purchased Furla items, with a portion of the proceeds supporting BGR and its mission to empower, mentor and promote the arts for young women of color. We couldn’t take our eyes off the Tulipano; we felt it was a worthy investment in our footwear as well as in the future of girls of color. Now that’s a stylish endeavor. You can visit Furla on 727 Madison Ave.; manager Carla Posner says that the location will “definitely be working with BGR” and hosts another charitable shopping night in the near future.

SMOOCH. Ladies, ladies, ladies. If you know anything about me by now it’s my undying love for red lipstick. Matte to be exact. While on my hunt for “red perfection,” I came across Inglots red lipstick. Unfortunately it has no name but it does have a number: 409. It’s a blue-based red that comes in matte which, by the way, is the only way to wear red. But enough about how to wear this color; now that I’ve told you which one to buy, let me tell you what I think of it. The Pros: Matte, bright — but not obnoxious or resembling clown paint; perfect for women of color. The Cons: A bit too dry of an application for a matte and the color doesn’t last very long before fading. If you want picture perfect puckers (and don’t mind reapplying!), then buy your Inglot #409 today and start working on making those lips iconic. If you want to know how to apply the vibrant shade, check out sugaRushtv’s red lipstick tutorial “I’m Bringing Sexy ‘Matte’.”
