CLEAR. With all the newest products claiming to clear acne, remove blemishes and eliminate blackheads/whiteheads, it can be quite hard to find something to do just the basics: wash, exfoliate, tone and moisturize. A stylish girl must always do the basics every day and night! So it was refreshing to find Verabella, a system designed to do just what a DivaGal ordered. The exfoliating face wash combo is just right when it comes to texture and granule size; no rough-like brillo on the skin here. A nice simple toner follows; kudos to those who created the scent. One must moisturize after washing and toning. Verabella doesn’t have a creamy lotion but a healing gel. It’s a bit sticky upon application and drying, but my face doesn’t feel dried out shortly after applying or in the AM (and that’s a good thing!). The DivaGals got our taste of how to travel at the gala opening for the new facilities of Mercedes-Benz Manhattan. Their 330,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art flagship dealership is a Gold LEED certified space that merges cutting edge technology and sleek design, including a helix vehicle ramp that connects all five stories. The event included a VIP cocktail reception with food inspired by The ModernΓÇÖs Executive Chef Gabriel Kreuther. A private concert with surprise musical guest Matchbox 20 and champagne tailgate followed in the park that faces the dealership. Our choice for celebrating the red, white and blue? TASTE. Sure, the Fourth is about hamburgers and hot dogs; still us DivaGals want our dishes to be classy! That’s why we’re staging a meal at Milk Street Cafe, a 23,000-square-foot gourmet Food Hall located on New York City’s Wall Street. Milk Street is a a family-run small business that has brought 80-plus permanent jobs back to the financial district. This is the second Milk Street Cafe location, the first being a small retail and large catering outpost in the financial hub of Boston. The Wall Street destination features multiple gourmet food stations created by Executive Chef Steven Mettle. The menu was customized according to the results of a survey offered to the tenants of the Trump Building, and is designed to meet varying dietary restrictions. Everything is prepared fresh on-site daily, using top quality ingredients and the most innovative of restaurant equipment. What impressed us ? Not just the yummy vegan, vegetarian and Kosher dishes; the sophisticated decor and super friendly staff, the “tip free” tables are great for the budget-conscious DivaGal! The high-tech design prevents tables from suffering from annoying cafe table wobble. We can’t rave enough about the yummy sushi and we have to holla about the chocolate chip cookies (yes, break your bikini diet for these!). FYI this hot space is also available for private events.
