It’s a virtual pu-pu platter of name-brand actors making their midnight dreams come true and resolving resolutions in time for the big night (it will become a very popular drinking game to name all these stars when it comes out on DVD). FYI: Ashton Kutcher is NOT playing the character he originated in NYE‘s sister film Valentine’s Day, so knock that out of your head before you get to the theater! TV DivaGal loved watching Zac Efron and Michelle Pfeiffer pair up again in a film, with slightly romantic undertones in their vignette. Luxe Gal was drawn to Sarah Jessica Parker as a costume designer, and the great dress and shoes that were scene stealers. There is a touching tribute to our military men in one story, plus 15-year-old Abigail Breslin’s first screen kiss. (Are we ready for this? We still see her dancing up a pre-teen storm in Little Miss Sunshine!)┬áThe movie is a little predictable, but it’s also a lovely tribute to all that NYC does to ring in the New Year, and its message of New Year’s forgiveness and love puts you in the right frame of mind to enter 2012. New Year’s Eve opens today nationwide.
