GAL APPROVED! Hot Spot In Midtown; Spicy Caramels & Chocolates!
By The DivaGals | October 9, 2015 | Gal ApprovedTASTE. You know how hard it is to find a spacious, stylish restaurant near New York City’s Penn Station. But the DivaGals have found the joint! Juniper Bar offers offers creative tasty dishes, fun crafted cocktails and craft beers in a modern, chic setting.
We loved the appetizer selections, which includes Vietnamese style wings, lobster mac and cheese, sweet and spicy calamari and edamame hummus, which are all meant to be shared. Juniper’s private party room downstairs, with its dual screens, screams for an Empire viewing party! Check out Juniper Bar for Happy Hour and other specials.
TASTE TOO. Annie B‘s melt-in-your-mouth caramels made Oprah‘s favorite things list for 2014. This year they have made it on to ours with their salted caramel flavor. The natural ingredients are gluten and preservative free, and made without high-fructose corn syrup. They are the ideal after-dinner treat or a gift for your hostess. The small company of 18 employees produces slow-cook caramels that come in 16 flavors ΓǪ and growing!
TASTE THREE. You’ve never tasted truffles like these! The traditional chocolate treat take on a spicy sense in Moonstruck Chocolates‘ new savory mushroom collection. At a special tasting party we paired Julian Rose‘s inventive creations with the perfect aperitifs inside The Wayfarer NYC. A tomato with basil mushroom truffle that reminded us of a big bowl of spaghetti went down nicely with Pinot Grigio. The Porcini mushrooms with smoked bacon flavored chili truffles made nice with a salted bourbon. And the fig with hot curry mushroom truffles became a brunchy treat with an ancho-chili mimosa. Pairs made in chocolate heaven! Get yours at moonstruckchocolate.com.
