Last Christmas, out today, tells the story of Kate, a young singer who’s lost her merry in life in the streets of London, kinda ironic because she works in a Christmas store. She’s also just recovered from an operation, which has interrupted her mojo. That’s the perfect time for a mysterious stranger to come into her life, in the form of the incredibly handsome Henry Golding. Tom, as he’s known, rides bicycles and devotes time to a homeless shelter. They have little in common, but for some reason, they are inexplicably drawn to one another… Last Christmas is a nod to the famous George Michael Xmas song of the same name, and much of George’s music is featured in the film. While the first half of the film moves kind of slowly, just keep watching for its poignant payoff. Michelle Yeoh also stars.
