Watch Genius: MLK/X—Our Divalicious Interviews!

There’s no better way to kick off Black History Month than with two of the nation’s biggest civil rights icons. DivaGalsDaily contributor Sharlon Reyes conducts an exclusive interview with executive producers Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewood regarding their latest project, Nat Geo’s Genius: MLK/X, now playing on Hulu and Disney+. The conversation explores their creative path, providing insights into portraying the lives of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X and their careful depiction of the civil rights movement for the audience.

We spent some time with the women beside the men, Weruche Opia and Jayme Lawson, who play Coretta Scott King, and Betty Shabazz, to find out how their love supported and uplifted their husbands and, of course, what they loved wearing from the era.

The cast celebrated the series at the National Geographic Genius: MLK/X—Two Minds, One Movement exhibit, now running at the Paley Center in New York City through March 3, 2024.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith Ignite Sparks

If you’re looking for a series that seriously smolders, Mr. &Mrs. Smith is right up your alley. The new action drama from Donald Glover takes its DNA from the 2005 movie starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie but makes some major tweaks and updates for a 2020-something era. John (Glover) and Jane (Maya Erskine) are two individuals with secretly covet backgrounds who are hired as operatives by a mysterious company they only communicate with online.

Moved into a New York City brownstone so gorgeous we may apply for the gig, they learn they are married and have to move through these new identities as they carry our their dangerous missions. The attraction is set from the moment they meet, even if it takes Jane a little longer to warm up to the idea (but not too long!). It may take you a minute to warm up as well as the first episode is more banter than blow-ups as John and Jane get to know one another. But with all eight episodes dropping today, it doesn’t take long to want to be in a thrupple with these two hotties. We hear that Glover and Erskine bared their souls to one another before filming the series to make sure their on-screen attraction was genuine, and it shows.

Valentine’s Day is around the corner, so grab someone you love or find someone you don’t even know and propose watching this series together for a sexy and spy-saturated time.
