Peacock’s Gold Summer (and Fall!)

The DivaGals got a peek into the upcoming fall season on Peacock at a special Olympics-themed breakfast. Look for SNL‘s Ego Nwodim, who looked a little “too chummy” with co-star Adam Polly in Steph Curry’s mockumentary Mr. Throwback. Also coming in hot is Bel Air. This season the teens will be enjoying summer break with antics that range from beach volleyball to drag racing. It’s giving us Bay Beach with “deeper” tan-oiled bodies. Look—or maybe don’t—and try not to scream as you watch Hysteria, a series starring Julie Bowen. And, of course, Peacock will be the only service in the US to carry every live minute of the 2024 Summer Olympics, from the Opening Ceremonies to the closing number. Look for hosts Kevin Hart, Kenan Thompson and Snoop Dogg to provide unconventional play-by-plays that add a little “fun” to the games! As always watch your favorite NBC shows the day after they air on Peacock.
Hallmark Gets Real
Hallmark is getting into the reality game! At the Summer 2024 Television Critic’s Conference in Pasadena, California, the network announced a full lineup of unscripted programming starring some of its staple stars coming to its new s Hallmark+, its new membership streaming service. We can’t wait to see Finding Mr. Christmas, where 10 unknown talents get the star-making chance of a lifetime: to win a leading man role in a Hallmark Christmas movie. Jonathan Bennett hosts. On Small Town Setup, hosted by Ashley Williams, small-town communities work together to help singles find love right in their neighborhoods. We did notice that there were no series being helmed or hosted by people of color. But Williams, one of our fave Hallmark gals assured us that the series will reflect diversity in front of and behind the camera. Note to Hallmark: We’re ready to see B.J. Britt, who stars in the upcoming Hallmark movie trilogy Groomsmen, produce and host his own reality series related to his Southern North Carolina roots!
