SEE. If you like gladiator style fighting, revenge, strong friendships and a love story, then Pompeii is a good movie to watch. There are a lot sexy men fighting for their lives — and one fighting for the heart of a princess (a situation a Single Gal like myself wouldn’t mind being in the middle of!). Leading actor Kit Harington plays Milo, a former slave who becomes a gladiator and is in a desperate race against time to save his love Cassia (Emily Browning) by standing up to the king of Rome, played by Kiefer Sutherland, and also save her life. Milo builds a friendship with Bridgageous (Adewale Akinnvoye-Agbaje) after finding out they were penned against one another to kill each other. If you know the true story of what happened to the city of Pompeii you may have an inkling how this movie ends, but it’s worth the ride. And we loved that ancient Rome has some color, if only in this present day incarnation. Pompeii opens nationwide today.
