NYC Mission Society “Champions for Children” Benefit Gala (APRIL 24). This year’s gala is honoring to leaders in the multicultural world: Cathy Hughes, founder and chairperson, Urban One, Inc. (that’s TV One and Radio One); and Mannie Jackson, 2017 Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer and president, Mannie Jackson for the Humanities Foundation. Awards will also be presented to LTC Francis W. Kairson, Jr., BNY Mellon and International Flavors & Fragrances. Benefitting educational programs and supportive services that help youth and families in New York City’s underserved communities break the cycle of poverty and achieve success, the gala hosts a cocktail hour followed by dinner and performances at Mandarin Oriental hotel. Institute for Community Living’s Annual Gala (APRIL 26). This year’s “Builders of the Future” gala will honor acclaimed philanthropist, artist, educator and social worker Connie Silver, along with Lamb Financial Group, Mount Sinai Hospital’s Dr. Sabina Lim and New York City Council Member Rafael Espinal. The evening will celebrate the Spring 2018 opening of ICLΓÇÖs Integrated Health Hub in East New York, a brand new 40,000 sq ft health, mental health and community service center.
