SEE. Fox’s newest series Proven Innocent is a new procedural drama with an intriguing twist. Rachelle Lefevre stars as Madeline Scott, a lawyer who was wrongfully accused of her best friend’s death and spent 10 years behind bars. She now fights for others who have been wrongfully convicted. With her dedicated team, which includes African-American actors Russell Hornsby and Nikki M. James, Madeline is determined to take down prosecutor Gore Bellows, played by Kelsey Grammer, who prosecuted her case. Madeline believes he put her behind bars with nefarious intent. But Proven Innocent isn’t just a procedural drama. The first season also follows the mystery to uncover who truly killed Madeline’s bestie. Anyone who enjoys crime shows — and a good whodunit — will want to watch Proven Innocent. The series has partnered with The Innocence Project, which fights for the wrongfully imprisoned, to craft their storylines. So it’s also a lesson on when our legal system fails those who had no reason to lose their freedom and innocence. Premiering Friday, Feb. 15 at 9 p.m. on FOX.
