We were there for the red carpet premiere and after-party of the new political thriller The Amateur. Rami Malek plays Charles Heller, a brilliant, reclusive CIA cryptographer whose life is turned upside down when his wife is killed in a terrorist strike in London. Frustrated with his superiors’ passivity, Heller blackmails the agency into training him as a field operator.
He then embarks on a risky, global expedition to find those guilty of his wife’s death, relying on his brains and technological talents as his superpowers. This makes him an unexpected action hero negotiating the dangerous realm of espionage. Laurence Fishburne also stars as his mentor.

G20
We love seeing Viola Davis kick butt in everything she does. So we’re thrilled over her latest flick, G20. Davis (who also executive produced the film) stars as President Danielle Sutton, who is in Cape Town, South Africa, for the G20 summit. Terrorists take over the global affair, putting every leader at risk. After evading capture, President Sutton draws upon her experience in both governance and the military to protect her family and the world. “[Viola Davis] is definitely one of the most multifaceted—can play any role. She is just such a visionary,” declares Marsai Martin, who stars as Serena, President Sutton’s tech-savvy daughter, in the film. “You can hear it within [Viola’s] voice, her presence, and how she perfects her craft.” The film also stars Christopher Farrar as son Demetrius and Anthony Anderson as Derek Sutton, the First Gentleman.
G20 is now playing on Prime Video.
