WIN THIS! Tickets to The Oprah Winfrey Show! Plus, something “Borrowed,” a happy app, de-puffing your eyes and why you’ll watch even more Law & Order: Criminal Intent this season!
SEE. Something Borrowed isn’t your average romantic comedy. The story revolves around Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin), a lawyer whose best friend, it’s-all-about-me Darcy (Kate Hudson), is marrying Rachel’s law school buddy Dex (Colin Egglesfield). It’s pretty obvious that Rachel and Dex are a true match, an attraction that was halted abruptly in college and now, six years later, they both realize they can no longer ignore — despite looming wedding plans. It’s a thought-provoking story of the importance of boundaries between friends. When these painfully real characters are not honest with themselves or one another, they end endup hurting each other, even in the process of trying to “do the honorable thing.” That’s what takes Something Borrowed to the next level. Sure, you’ll still root for the heroine to get her man, though you may find yourself wondering, just for a moment, if she, or any of the other characters, deserve a happy ending. That is except for Darcy, who will insist on hers! Something Borrowed opens nationwide May 6. (Destination Divas)

SENSE. The Partridge Family sang about it. Now there’s an app that wants you to “Come On, Get Happy,” The Happy Apps. It’s the creation of Moncia Singh Haley, a busy mom and yoga addict who realized she could bring a little balance into her life using the coolest of technical gadgets. Inspired by her Indian heritage and colorful displays she witnessed while visiting her native India, Monica designed the light therapy app to help bring focus and intention into your life. “I love my iPhone and I wondered if you could use it to give people light in a positive way,” Monica shares. “Basically you turn it on and there’s a lot of information about what white light and different colored lights do to enhance your mood. You pick how long you want it to run for and hit ‘start.'” Monica explains to just put your gadget, “in your field of vision ΓÇô you don’t stare at it ΓÇô and your brain processes the information to affect parts of your body.” Hottest colors? “Green for balance, growth and new beginnings,” says Monica, who also loves the purple. “It’s the divine ray and is stimulating for deeper mental and spiritual thought. I like having some help to get there.” And at just $1.99, this app is definitely a “Why Not” price. Learn more about the Happy Apps, which is available as a universal app for both iPhones and iPads, at www.thehappyapps.com (DigiGal) WIN THIS! SOOTHE. Are you wreaking havoc on your skin due to a compromised diet from stuffing the gob on the go and grueling work hours with little to no sleep? Sorry ladies, but it’s totally unacceptable to be walking around on sunny Spring days with ugly, puffy eyes. That’s why the combination of Borghese’s eye treatment and intensive firming cream make for a great fighting agent, and is the perfect solution to reducing puffiness. At night, use your ring finger to dab a few dots of both creams around the eyes, paying specific attention to the under eye area. Then apply the sleeping mask. When you wake up in the morning, trust me, you’ll see the difference! Do this for a couple of days before any big event and you just may snag yourself a prince who’s also on the go! Stock up on your creams at Borghese.com. (Style Gals)
WATCH. How glad are we to have Law & Order: Criminal Intent back with the one and only Vincent D’Onofrio? The actor with that piercing gaze gave us the scoop on what’s going to happen on the series this season. “Each of the next seven episodes will have a shrink session, and the shrink will be played by Julia Ormond.” Yep, looks like Detective Robert Goren is finally seeking some professional help, which is a very good thing. “He’s just a crazy guy who’s out of his mind,” Vincent said with a laugh as he described his onscreen ego to us at the USA Upfront Monday night. The cast of Law & Order: SVU might want to have Detective Goren pop by their precinct this season since Vincent’s favorite Criminal Intent episodes are, “not the ones pulled from the headlines. Mine are the one about heinous crimes, like pedophilia and serial killers, that’s the stuff,” he shared. “I have kids and a teenage daughter, and I think those are the worst crimes ever. Things that have to do with that kind of stuff intrigues me the most.” Of course, we had to ask him the most important question ΓÇô will he be seeing Thor this weekend (all you Adventures in Babysitting fans should understand this!). “Maybe, if my son wants to see it,” he chuckled. See Vincent back on Law & Order: Criminal Intent Sundays at 9 p.m. on USA Network. (TV DivaGal)
