AWE. The DivaGals love to throw a party! We did just that this week inside our DivGals Style Lounge “Fall Into Beauty” event, featuring Beautiful Curls by Alaffia and Shaw Vineyard wines. Held inside the pristine white space of Select Strands, a hair extension supply company in Manhattan, our guests got mini-makeovers from Vera Moore Cosmetics, hand treatments from B Spa Bar and hair styling advice from natural expert Avril of Neal Farinah Salon and Weave Master Belinda, as well as witness an interactive fashion presentation from Forever 21. Our goody bags were smokin’ with treats from Hanes Hosiery, KineSpirit workout studio and Bally Total Fitness. And a big thanks to our special VIP guests from One Life to Live. Check out our exclusive photos below and more here.

EAT. I don’t do pasta. That’s the statement I usually make when friends suggests a night of Italian dining since I have a gluten allergy. I almost turned down an offer to try Bar Italia at its second location on Madison Ave at 66th St. Thank goodness I didn’t. Upon entrance in the sleek, chic venue, I was greeted with a warm hello and a Bellini, always a good way to start. I then dug into several tasting plates of antipasti, including Fritto Misto, a mixture of fried calamari and shrimp, and grilled octopus, which I tried for the very first time. To be perfectly honest, there was little room left for pasta, so I was good. That’s when chef Denis Franceschini mentioned they have an entirely gluten-free selection of pastas (corn-based), so I was able to try the Tagliolini al Tartufo with black truffle, and it was unreal. Could it get any better? It could, with a tiramisu dessert designed by a raw food chef who took out the gluten and dairy. So now I have a different answer when my friends suggest Italian. I say, “As long as it’s Bar Italia!” Bar Italia Madison at 768 Madison Ave 66th Street. Visit www.baritalianyc.com for more information.
SHOP. If there is one thing DivaGals love most about fashion, it’s the accessories. We could shop for them day and night. That’s why we loved learning about the new site www.Jewelista.com that sells — you guessed it — hot jewelry. Yes, company spans the globe to find intriguing pieces that will perk up any wardrobe, but there’s so much more, including a “Designer’s Studio,” which gives you a bio on the site’s featured artists. Of course, spanning the globe isn’t cheap, and neither are many of Jewelista’s offerings. But a little searching brought us to a cool mesh necklace by Michou that can be bended into different designs; a multi-fuctional piece at only $40. We’re sure your wallet can bend to that.
SUPPORT. If you’re in the DivaGals homebase of New York City and you are a fan of the soaps, then you’ll want to attend the 7th Annual Rock Show for Charity to benefit American Red Cross relief on Saturday, Oct. 8. One Life to Live‘s Gina Tognoni and Kristen Alderson will host the evening at historical Soho Playhouse at 15 Vandam St. The evening will feature the Bradley Cole Band and performances by OLTL cast members, as well as a tribute to the show, which ends its TV run in December. Doors open at 6p.m.; get tickets at www.rockshowforcharity.org.
