“GAL APPROVED” Weekend Edition – Talking Animals, Fairy Dust For Eyes & Posh Drug Stores!

SEE. Who can resist a man who can talk with the animals? For Griffin, lead zookeeper in the new film of the same name, he’s hoping conversations with his furry friends will make him irresistible. After a mishap with his ex, Griffin learns that the zoo animals can not only talk, but are willing to give him advice on how to win her back (“throw poop at her” is definitely my personal favorite!). Obviously, getting mating advice from the animal kingdom leads the film’s star Kevin James to engage in some major physical comedy. And having an 800-lbs. gorilla as his best pal also causes some serious chuckles. The movie lags a little in the middle, but offers up a cute payoff in the end. One thing is for certain, one you’ve seen Zookeeper, you’ll definitely want to go to TGIFs! (TV DivaGal)

LASH. Fairy Drops Mascara is a new exclusive at Sephora and one of my many obsessions. It was designed by Japanese TV personality Aya Yasuda because as a television star she understood the need for eyes to look their absolute best when trying to make an impression. It was such a success in Japan that the wand is patented in that country. The curved wand reaches every lash, including the tiny ones in the corners of your eyes. It lengthens your lashes without creating the spider lash look. If there is one downside, it wears off a bit so if you like dramatic eyes, you have to keep applying. Also, it only comes in jet black so if you desire a subdued look to your lashes it isnΓÇÖt the best choice. Entertainment Gal has been using this mascara for about three weeks. I like it for an everyday dressed-up look because it makes my lashes noticeable and gives me added length without looking too clubby. (Entertainment Gal)

The evening’s festivities was truly a star-studded event with a Who’s Who in the beauty world in attendance as they enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and music all night long! So what makes this space different from your average drugstore? The space actually takes your breath away: spiral staircases, brass banisters and marble everything.┬á Ahh Mr. Trump (he owns the space),┬á you are the king of excess!┬á This Duane Reade is open 24 hours, and has a full service salon for hair, nails, brows and makeover services, the works! There is also a virtual makeover machine that lets you see what you would look like with a new style. Seriously, have you ever heard about these things in a drugstore: a sushi and juice bar, fresh produce for purchase and other goodies-to-go?
