SEE. If you find yourself getting gleeful every time the IKEA catalog arrives, and you’re in New York City this weekend, then you’ll definitely want to make plans to stop by the Pavilion of Art & Design New York. Held inside the Park Avenue Armoury on the Upper East Side, galleries from France (where PAD originated), the UK, Italy, U.S.A. and others are showcasing furniture, photography and jewelry that embody Impressionism, Modern and Contemporary art and design. We especially loved this desk, on loan from Lamberty of the Netherlands, where designer Yves St. Laurent actually worked on designs. The exhibition is open through Nov. 14, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. To see more work, visit our DivaGalsDaily Facebook page. For more information, visit www.padny.net. (Design Diva)

SUPPORT. Love being the first to tell your friends about upcoming talent? Then be sure to score a ticket this weekend to the first Brownfish Short Film Festival held in New York City’s Cinema Village. Founded by veteran filmmaker Devin Assuncao, the showcase is designed to help fresh-faced talent get their work in the public hands. “You spend all this time making a film, but then no one gets to see it,” explains Devin. “This is an opportunity to get your work out there and learn how to navigate the festival circuit.” Along with screenings, there are workshops and an awards gala on Sunday evening. We’re itching to see┬áThicker Than Water by Anissa Folley, which showcases a young man coming to terms with what he believes is his father’s less-than-noble profession. Screenings and workshops are $15. For more information, visit www.brownfish.com. (TV DivaGal)
