GAL APPROVED Weekend: Luscious Lips, Clearer Skin and One Scary Home!
By DIVAGALS | January 11, 2013 | Entertainment, Gal ApprovedSEE. TV DivaGal is not the type to see a scary movie. Luckily, A Haunted House, the newest offering from the House of Wayans, is anything but. Let me make it very clear though, this parody of the paranormal is just from the twisted mind of Marlon Wayans. “I didn’t make this film for the critics … I made it for you,” Marlon, who wrote, produced and starred in the film, told a very satisfied audience at a private screening last night. “I really got to do me without someone saying, ‘you’re going too far.'” The story centers around Malcolm, who has invited his girlfriend of two years, Kisha (Essence Atkins), to live with him. Unfortunately, Kisha has brought an unwelcome guest with her — no, not Malcolm’s future mother-in-law — but a lively poltergeist. What follows is a barrage of jokes on bodily functions, sexual positions and some very politically incorrect thoughts on homosexuality, race relations and religion. But Marlon and the undead are just having some fun, and it’s evident he’s enjoying every minute on screen. “I had to think of death and anal rape not to laugh,” he shared over some of the the movie’s most energetic scenes. If you go in prepared for lewd, crude humor and some brilliantly funny moments, you’ll enjoy it too. Word of Warning: No matter how much he begs, leave your 13-year-old nephew home on this one. In a few years he may get it, but that’s too impressionable an age to decipher the insanity of some of Marlon’s most inappropriate on-screen moments — we’re specifically referring to a shocking montage with stuffed animals… A Haunted House opens nationally on Friday. Jan 11.
CLEAR. Suffering from seasonal breakouts? We were and tried something a little different: Santalia. Santalia acne products incorporate elements of traditional Asian medicine. The cleansers and lotions are made with extracts from sandalwood oil, essential oil, fruit oil and wood powder. Sandalwood is a base for many Asian remedies. The essential oil and wood are and beneficial in enhancing the appearance of the skin. The fruit oil contains moisturizing fatty acids that have anti-inflammatory properties. We love the earthy smell and traditional ingredients that are both gentle and effective.
PUCKER. We love any makeup that gives our chocolate hue skin a glow. Luxe Gal has been wearing Iman Luxury Moisturizing Lipstick in Black Brandy from her cosmetics line all week and loving the deep dark brandy shading with its hint of gloss. Go ahead and plump up your pout; the collection comes in 13 luscious shades.
