You, Me & Her Premieres

OLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - JULY 02: Selina Ringel, Dan Levy Dagerman and Sydney Park attend the "You, Me & Her" movie premiere at TCL Chinese Theatre on July 02, 2023 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Araya Doheny/Getty Images for Selina Ringel)

The new film from writer/producer/lead actress Selina Ringel explores the struggle of being in a long-term committed relationship: how we can start to take each other for granted and what it looks like to fantasize about being with someone else. Her husband, Dan Levy Dagerman, directed and produced. You, Me & Her premiered at the Dances with Films Festival at the TCL Chinese Theatre earlier this month and had some special guests, like Fantasy Island‘s Roslyn Sanchez.

Just in case you missed it… They Cloned Tyrone is on Netflix

If you haven’t seen it yet, this is the weekend to watch They Cloned Tyrone. Thank you Netflix for giving us the genre mix we didn’t know we needed in our lives: Blaxploitation meets SciFi. They Cloned Tyrone is a “mindblowing ride” with edgy direction, a “poppin” hip soundtrack and nuanced and consistent performances, as Tyrone (played by John Boyega) and his friends learn they are part of a big, secret experiment. They let you feel like they know we are “in” on the jokes and we are committed to the delicious punchlines. It has its own beautifully unexpected innocence and charm and is highlighted by the “powerhouse performances” of Boyega and Jamie Foxx. It’s also a visual treat with strong fashion choices in natural hairstyles and a vibe from the 1970s. They Cloned Tyrone recreates the era of Black alpha male and female criminal investigators from the ’70s Blaxploitation film period. Hats off to anyone who takes up that mantle, we are here for it with popcorn in hand! Divalicious heads-up: the film uses the N-word repeatedly. Producer Dr. Stephen Love explains why here.
