Being Elizabeth STARZ

Being Elizabeth. Talk about an Elizabethan drama! Long before she ascended the throne, young Elizabeth Tudor was an orphaned teenager who became embroiled in the political and sexual politics of the English court. The death of King Henry VIII sees his nine-year-old son Edward take the throne and sets into motion a dangerous scramble for power when Elizabeth, Edward and their sister Mary find themselves pawns in a game between the great families of England and the powers of Europe who vie for control of the country. Being Elizabeth premieres Sunday, June 12 on Starz.

Ever since Bowen Chang’s now-classic SNL skit, “Iceberg’s Take on the Titanic,” we are sure the whole world is wondering what if Celine Dion actually starred in a musical version of Titanic. Well, not really but the producers of Titanique have a very entertaining take on the megahit movie. They took it one step further by adding wicked wit, a gay twist, a few boldface names and Broadway regulars. The result? Pure must-see off-Broadway entertainment. Opening June 23, tickets are available at www.titaniquemusical.com through its Sept. 25 run.
