William Jackson Harper’s Performance in Primary Trust Brings on Tears

The new play Primary Trust by Eboni Booth introduces us to Kenneth, played so wonderfully by The Good Place alum William Jackson Harper, who frequents a tiki bar in his quiet Rochester neighborhood with his pal Bert, portrayed by Eric Berryman, to sip mai tais. The problem is that Bert is fictitious, In a passage that is typical of the monologues in this play, Kenneth says, “More like—exists only in my head.” This poignant one-act touches on the pandemic of loneliness and the problematic American foster care system. You definitely walk away with food for thought. Kudos to the cast for outstanding performances.

Primary Trust, now playing through July 2 at the Roundabout At Laura Pels Theatre, Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre in New York City.

Watch Season Two of With Love!

Siblings Lily and Jorge Diaz are back to navigate major life changes—luckily they have their big family to get them through. This season, Lily is focusing her energy on a personal journey of self-love by growing her makeup styling business and looking into homeownership. But love has a way of coming around again, and this time, it’s double the decisions! Jorge begins to question whether he and Henry are truly compatible when he meets Henry’s proud Texan parents, and he can’t decide whether the relationship is a fairy tale or a nightmare.

See Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Our favorite teen Spidey and his group of other Spidey friends are back. This time, Miles discovers an even bigger verse of web-slinging crime fighters and has to choose between who he’ll save or saving new worlds.

New Art From Kid Genius

We’ll file this under “discovered” in Soho: the art exhibition, UNBELIEVABLE is at the Modus10 – Rolf Benz Flagship Store in New York City. Mikail Akar, who is only 10 years old, is already creating waves in the art world.

The gifted artist has established himself as a legitimate painter, with his works being displayed in several shows all around the world.

I’d compare him to Keith Haring and Picasso for his abstracts and rich use of colors. Akar’s artwork sells for upwards of $9,000 with a portion being donated to Save the Children Foundation.
