Limit your workouts to 30-40 minutes. Yes, you read that right. Many people make the mistake of working out for too long. Instead of working out for longer periods at a lower intensity, it is much more beneficial to work out for shorter periods at a higher intensity. Try cardio conditioning, HIIT training, and interval training for a maximum burn in the allotted time.

Start slow. If you are new to exercise, take things slowly, especially if you’re doing high-intensity exercise. If you’re cycling or running, build up your endurance for around a month before you start doing anything more intense. Once you have improved your fitness level, then you can then start to increase the intensity of your exercises.

Drink lots of water. This one is easy! Make sure to drink lots of water throughout the day. You may not realize it, but it takes around two hours for your body to absorb water. So, drinking just before a workout is not enough. You must drink water throughout the day. Set yourself a daily water aim. Aim to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water each day — more if you’re working out. This will help you to keep your body hydrated and in good shape for exercise.

DonΓÇÖt go it alone. If you are new to exercise and struggle to motivate yourself then it might be a good idea to look into your options. Perhaps exercising with a friend might help to motivate you? Or, perhaps taking part in a exercise program, like the one offered by a professional fitness program, might help to keep your fitness on track? Think about what motivates you, and use it to help you stick to your fitness regimen.

Pick exercises that you enjoy. Exercising is no fun if you hate the type of exercise you are doing. If you try to do a form of exercise you donΓÇÖt like, you will only end up giving up. That is why it is important that you choose a type of exercise that you enjoy. Pick a form of exercise that you think you’ll enjoy– running, cycling, dance classes. You’ll be enjoying your exercise and looking forward to it. If you pick something you enjoy, that is.

Mix things up. DonΓÇÖt do the same workout every day, mix things up a bit. Choose two or three forms of exercise you enjoy, like swimming, running and walking, and alternate them throughout the week. On Mondays and Fridays you could swim, Tuesdays and Thursdays you could run, and on weekends you could go power walking at the mall. After all, you need to buy something sweet for your hot new bod!
