Thinking of a hot new spot to visit this summer? Hoe about Monte Carlo? Located on the French eastern border in the country of Monaco, it’s one of the world’s biggest tourist spots. Thanks to its beauty Monte Carlo has appeared in a lot of movies, articles and TV shows – and it’s a favorite tourist spot of Beyonce and Jay-Z. But what exactly makes it so beautiful that almost everybody (including us!) wants to visit it at least once in a lifetime? Check out these most visited in- and outdoor places in Monte Carlo that will make you want to book a ticket today!
Where should we start? How about some serious sightseeing. There are so many beautiful buildings and landscapes in this tiny city, it will take at least one day to see them all. You can also take in Monte Carlo by walking or by car. Or you can hop onto a tourist bus and get a little history lesson to learn the story behind the famous landmarks. A few “must-see” places include:
- The Palais du Prince: A fortress by the sea built in the 13th century
- Oceanographic Museum: You’ll be able to take a look into the amazing marine world
- Port de la Condamine: You only can walk here, but I assure you that you haven’t seen this much yachts in one place
- Larvotto Beach: In the hottest part of the day you can dip here in the ocean
Of course, there are many more things to see in Monte Carlo, but these are the most loved and definitely places where you’d gotta spend some time.
Been sharpening your games skills with an online casino? Then you are going to flip over the IRL casinos in Monte Carlo. The most famous is Casino de Monte-Carlo, a massive complex located that includes a casino, the Grand Théâtre de Monte Carlo, and the office of Les Ballets de Monte Carlo. You can also check out Sun Casino, Monte-Carlo Bay Casino, and Café de Paris. They are part of the city’s culture, so take advantage. (Fun fact: Did you know that the locals, called Monegasques, can’t enter the casinos in Monte Carlo?)
After all that fun, you’ll want to shop. Located Opposite the Casino Gardens is the Métropole Shopping Center with luxury décor of beautiful marble under a magnificent period chandelier. It houses 80 shops and five restaurants that offer everything from fashion and accessories to gourmet food, jewelry, luxury timepieces, beauty treatments, homeware, tableware and antiques.
You gotta eat! Why not grab a meal at L’intempo restaurant, located on Av. Princesse Grace, as in Hollywood icon Grace Kelly. Dine on Mediterranean Fish Soup, Lobster And Shrimp Tagliatelle and Crispy Lamb Loin while checking out breathtaking views over the Mediterranean sea and the Principality of Monaco.
