Move over Sex and the City. There’s another TV female foursome ready to come to the big screen: the cast of the comedy series Girlfriends.
“I want it to happen,” series star Tracee Ellis Ross exclaimed to the TV DivaGal during the after-party to celebrate her role in the Off-Broadway production of┬á Love, Loss and What I Wore. “The idea has floated around numerous times, and I feel strongly it’s going to happen.”
For Tracee, who starred as neurotic lawyer Joan Clayton on the series, a feature film would finally give Girlfriends some much-needed closure.

“We didn’t get a proper ending, and a movie would be the best way to do it,” she said, though Tracee’s hesitant to speculate on what Joan’s been doing since the show ended in 2008. “She was just an extraordinary role,” Traci exclaimed.
One thing is certain: the footwear would be fierce. “I just bought a pair of Christian Louboutins for my birthday,” shared Tracee. “The heel is rare, and they are like a cross between a boot and a shoe. They look great with a dress and with a pant; they just do everything great.”
We’d love to see that action on the big screen!
Catch Tracee in Love, Loss and What I Wore at New York City’s Westside Theater through Jan. 31.
