Contributor Brittany McCarthy attends the ASPCA Young Friends Benefit in New York City, and makes some new furry friends!
The ASPCA Young Friends Benefit, a conjunction of ASPCA fundraising efforts to help impact the lives of homeless, neglected and abused animals, brought together more than 500 young professionals for a fun night of dancing, food, drinks and fundraising to save homeless animals. As an animal lover myself, I couldn’t wait to see all the cute puppies.
The event began with a furry red carpet, where young professional celebrities walked down with cute dogs. I spied dog lover Jay Manuel of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy fame, E! host Alicia Quarles and the CEO of ASPCA Matthew Bershadker, as they expressed the love they have for animals and the support they have for organization. The benefit also featured a silent auction, which highlighted the artwork of Donald Robertson.
While the night was about raising money, it was also a chance take your own furry friend home. While I went home empty-handed, I was glad to get in a few cuddles, a few licks and a few woofs with the stars of the night!
