Sean Stewart and the tennis greats
There are certain things that make New Yorkers New Yorkers, and one of those things are the annual treks to the Hamptons during the summer.
Perfect Plus One accompanied TV Divagal to East Hampton for the Ross School Pro-Am Tennis Charity tournament for a day of tennis, lunch, good conversation and much- needed sun.
The school’s tennis center was in a lovely wooded area, and the field house was beautifully designed with foam green and tan throw pillows lining the benches, and sturdy beach umbrellas shielding the players and their guests from the sun.
The tournament may have even inspired Perfect Plus One to take up the sport!
It was a lovely and finally sunny day after enduring all of the rain: Perfect Plus One was ready to construct an ark after all of gloomy weeks of dreary weather.
After the tournament, Perfect Plus One and TV Divagal attended the Tommy Hilfiger store opening party on East Hampton’s Main Street.
While most treks include an overnight stay in one of the mansions seen on The Real Housewives of New York City, we returned to our beloved Manhattan by night fall.
While the day was a perfect one, the trek to the Hamptons on the Jitney was not as glamorous as Perfect Plus One’s secret guilty pleasure, Gossip Girl, would make us think.
Perfect Plus One endured a fellow customer who decided she was the line manager as she entered the bus, and Upper East Side over-privileged teens who talked too much on their cell phones during the journey, along with suffering through pre-packaged muffins served as breakfast.
The good thing about the trek was the New York Times passed out on the bus, and the fact the bus attendant wore gloves as he passed out the food.
Breaking it down, the jitney is still a bus ride, with better seating.
Perfect Plus One much prefers train travel.
Perfect Plus One hopes everyone has a sunny Fourth of July.
Signing off for now… Cheers,
Perfect Plus One
