Held through August 16, 2025, HSFF is setting its sights on something on the motherland with this year’s Spotlight on Africa—an exceptional curation of films, music, and media that honors the rich, dynamic artistry rising from the continent and its diaspora.

Opening night was one for the history books. The evening began at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre for the world premiere of VICTORY, a 25-minute visual album directed by the brilliant Meji Alabi and featuring Slick Rick, Idris Elba and Nas. Yes, all our favorites.
VICTORY is more than a film—it’s a visceral experience.
