Reasonable Doubt, the new legal drama from Disney’s Onyx Collective, is coming to HULU. The story revolves around Jacqueline “Jax” Stewart (Emayatzy Corinealdi), a high-powered criminal defense attorney from Los Angeles, who fiercely bucks the justice system through wild interpretations of the law and sometimes questionable ethics. She’s also dealing with a failing marriage and the pitfalls of motherhood. It’s loosely based on celebrity attorney Shawn Holley, who has advised an impressive roster of clients including the Kardashian and Jenner families, Tupac Shakur and Katt Williams. The series is executive produced by Kerry Washington and Larry Wilmore. “She’s a really complicated Black woman. She’s successful and married. Her kids are knocking on their adolescence. She’s multitasking and balancing a lot. And we get to watch her courageously brave her life in a messy, exciting way,” Washington shared in a special interview our fearless EIC Delaina Dixon did for Ebony.
