Christmas Day is tomorrow!
How should you spend the wee hours before you drift off to dream about what’s being stashed for you under the tree?
According to John Shea, who plays Blair Waldorf’s dad Harold on Gossip Girl, it’s listening to a good story!
“Every Christmas I go around and read a Truman Capote short story called A Christmas Memory to audiences,” he shares with the TV DivaGal.
“It’s about Truman as a young boy of seven who’s living with his cousin, an older woman who’s sixty and growing up in the country in Louisiana. It’s the most beautiful Christmas tale,” John says.
“Whenever I read it to people there are tears because it reminds them of growing up with their mother, grandmother or aunts, and brings back those memories.”
John suggests downloading an audio file or getting a copy of the book at the library.
“Symphony Space has a collection of selected shorts for National Public Radio with me reading it. You can find that, or hear it from Truman himself,” he suggests.
Of course we will, John! Consider it an early Xmas present!
