On Rules of Engagement’s season premiere tonight, Adhir Kalyn, who plays Russell’s buttoned up assistant Timmy, returns as a series regular, thanks in part to the wise words of his co-star, Patrick Warburton.
“I was pushing for him last year when he was doing some guest spots,” Patrick, who stars as longtime spouse Jeff, tells the TV DivaGal.
“I won’t say I was the only cast member, but I do remember going to our executive producers Doug [Robinson] and Tom [Hertz] and saying, ‘This guy is great. If we could have him on more shows it would be a fantastic thing.'”
Patrick believes that’s there’s a better balance on the show with six cast members, versus the original five. “Adhir and David Spade (Russell) work really well together. It’s great conflict.”
And Russell finally has a steady! Awww!
Rules of Engagement, season three, premieres Monday, March 1 at 8:30 p.m. on CBS.
