Interviewing Joe Shapira, founder of JDate, was the great highlight of NY Fashion Week for me.

Brilliant and charming, his new app: JFiix “It’s Young, It’s Fast, It’s Jewish” for the next-generation of cyber daters, launched on Rosh Hashanah.

The godfather of cyber dating, Joe created JDate because he was divorced from his first wife, and getting back into the dating game he realized that the old-fashioned dating agencies were just inefficient. He knew he could do it better, way better!

During the interview, Joe shared a golden nugget from a conversation he had with former Prime Minister of Israel Ariel Sharon, who said “Never look back.” Living in the moment, looking towards the future, there something to that.

Joe┬áwants to help the next generation of Jews worldwide find other Jews to date and mate. I said, “Joe, this is the part of the interview where I ask you to put your chutzpah where your App is.”

Finding a nice Jewish boy to take home to the parents is harder than one might think. For that matter finding a nice man period is a challenge especially after a certain age. But for the next three months I’ll go on this quest and keep our readers informed as to how it’s going. It’s my “90 Days to Husband no 2!” I handed Joe my phone and he hooked me up.

With my just-activated profile I was ready to go hunting for “Chuppah material.” Within minutes, I had messages in my box, fast indeed! I have been chatting pleasantly since last week. A couple of times I even embarked on the roller coaster of hopefulness. So far, so good.
