How To Stay Fit During The Holidays! If You Can’t Run, Step Or Scoop – Week 6!By The DivaGals | November 11, 2021 | Fitness
Hello Divas! The holiday season is officially here! How to stay fit during the holidays can be challenging with all the celebrations and good food. But we’ve got a few tips on how you can stay fit and healthy during the holidays and still enjoy the season to be merry!
Schedule time to work out
Your days can become a bit hectic during the holiday season with all the shopping, gatherings and merriment. It’s easy for you to become so busy that your workouts may fall by the wayside. So first and foremost, you need to schedule a time to get it done. At the beginning of each week, plan to do at least three workout sessions. Mark the days and times on your calendar and add reminders. Frequency and consistency will help you stay on your fitness track.
Put on some weights
The best way to burn the weight off your body is to pick up some weights! When you build lean muscle mass, your body burns more calories to maintain it. When you weight train, your body can begin to appear longer and leaner, and it will certainly get stronger. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat, so go by the looseness of your jeans versus the number on the scale to track your progress.
Eat smart and hydrate
‘Tis the season for treats, but that doesn’t mean you should abandon a healthy eating plan entirely. Follow the 80/20 rule: make 80 percent of your diet smart food choices — quality protein and vegetables — and then 20 percent can be your favorite treats. Remember the actual holidays only fall on a day. Plan to indulge a little on those actual days. Offset your heavy eating days with an extra workout. And stay hydrated. It’s easy to mistake dehydration for hunger. Celebrating Kwanzaa? Spend each of those seven days trying a new type of workout in honor of each principle.
If you can’t run, Step or Scoop!
Baby, it’s cold outside, so you may not be able to get in your daily run. But you can still get your heart pumping with a step platform! Step workouts combine the intensity of cardio with strength training as you lift your body up and down on the platform. That can help build strength, reduce fat and increase your cardiovascular fitness. And it burns calories! Try these step workout programs online that you can follow for a fun workout that can be done inside.
