By Delaina Dixon | February 15, 2023 | BeautyWe DivaGals love getting our ‘do done and meeting the incredible women behind the products that make our hair so lush. So we were giddy over our invite to Pardon My Fro‘s founder and creative director Dana Bly and celebrity stylist Felicia Leatherwood‘s invite to a Salon Takeover at Neal Farinah Salon (he does Beyonce‘s hair!) in Brooklyn, N.Y. to celebrate the new hair care line at Walmart and get some tips on how how to style natural black hair at home!
You may recognize Bly’s designs of Black women in all their glory on beautiful print kimono robes, bedding, rugs and other accessories that are sold on HSN or on society6.com.
I sat down in the stylus chair to test out a mix of several of the Pardon My Fro products. She first used the wildly popular Moisturizing Hair Milk, formulated for all hair types, which turned my dry mats into slippy strands. She then used the Curl Enhance Cream and twisted my little baby strands into defined coils, finishing it off with Hair and Scalp Oil to nurture my whole head, divine!
There is also a leave-in conditioner, edge gel and a mousse in the collection.
“I actually taught myself how to digitally illustrate,” Pardon My Fro founder Bly shared with the DivaGals. “And I love fashion so much, the colors and patterns. My illustrations are actually called dolls. And I used images that represent what my ancestors looked like and what my mom and Auntie look like for inspiration.”
