Huge Season Finale: What Happens Next?

If you watched part one of Huge‘s summer finale last week, you know that the show is gearing up for an enormous mid-season ender.

TV DivaGal had to know more, so I rang up Huge‘s creative duo Winnie Holzman, the woman who brought us the great teen drama My So-Called Life, and daughter Savannah Dooley (yep, her dad is Paul Dooley who plays Dr. Rand’s dad Joe!), to ask about tonight’s finale and what we should expect next!

“It’s just the middle of the summer for the campers, so you’re not going to get all the answers you’re looking for,” Savannah tells the TV DivaGal in reference to George and Amber’s forbidden romance and Will’s crush on Ian, though she admits that family weekend is “stirring up a lot of emotion,” for all the campers.

One mystery will be solved tonight. “We’ll learn the identity of Joyce,” Savanah spills.

This TV dynasty is still waiting to learn whether Huge has been picked up for another 10 episodes to finish out their first season, but they’re not worried if their stars decide transform themselves during the interim. “If they make a change, we’re not going to say, ‘As your employers, we forbid you from doing that,'” Savannah explains. “We’re not exercising control over these people’s bodies. Whatever happens to them, even if they gain weight, we’ll write around it.”

They’re moving forward with storyline ideas, which includes a little romance for the shy and mystical Becca.

“I didn’t want every character getting busy,” Savannah laughs of Becca’s lack of loving in the first part of the season. “But we have plans for her.”

And there’s a new character they want to introduce, Dr. Rand’s mom! “If we come back, we’ll definitely meet her,” Winnie reveals, adding, “We do have a very clear idea of who we want as well.”

Hmmm, maybe Dr. Rand has a young step-brother who has eyes for Becca? We’re so on it!
