Perfect Plus One’s fall season started off with a bang with Manhattan’s Fashion Night Out on Sept. 10. PP1 literally circled the city in various gallery and fashion events across the island.
First stop was the Upper East Side to attend the gallery opening of PP1’s friend Parker Stephenson of the Parker Stephenson Gallery, and Kim Bourus of Higher Pictures. Both had exhibits of fine art photography.
PP1 then popped into the Armani store on Madison and 66th street for a glass of Prosecco where I spotted Rosie O’Donnell being photographed with Mr. Armani himself, and chatted with Paulina Porizkova of America’s Next Top Model. I must say that Paulina was very gracious and looked very elegant in a blue frock.
Next stop was the lower east side to the Foley + Corinna shop for a dose of hip design and lollipops.
After the LES, I trekked west to the trendy Meat Packing district, which was literally packed to the gills with fashionistas attending the night’s events.
PP1 then took the A train uptown to Harlem for the Fashion Night Out Uptown Event at the Dwyer Cultural Center on St. Nicholas Avenue.
To sum it up, PP1 had literally circled the city from east to west and uptown to downtown for the evening. It was a memorable night.
After recuperating over the weekend, PP1 kicked off the week at a fashion show for this season’s Project Runway contenders Epperson and Logan Neitzel at a gallery in Soho.
PP1 loved Epperson’s African print dresses and Logan’s leather belted- dresses. Epperson looked overwhelmed, and Logan told PP1 that he was exhausted after it was all over.
The gallery felt like the late great New York of the ’90s. It was a wonderful space chocked full of graffiti. The space reminded me of my beloved city before the mall-ification of Manhattan.
Wishing you a very productive fall.
Cheers…signing off for now,
Perfect Plus One
