We canΓÇÖt help it. We all have some days when we get down. Rainy days, cold days or just days when you step on the scale and it screams back, ΓÇ£One foot at a time, please!ΓÇ¥ But I wouldnΓÇÖt be Inspiration Gal if I didnΓÇÖt try and inspire you to get out of your rut on those days. Here are some cool tips to try when the funk master is getting you down.
Flash A Grin
My first suggestion is one of my favorites because itΓÇÖs super cheap, quick and easy! Smile for a minute. Time yourself for the sixty-second duration. You just can not feel bad when you are smiling a real smile, so none of that fake mess. If you are doing it right, you will start to laugh about twenty seconds into your smile. Keep smiling for that full minute, then jump up and yell, ΓÇ£I feel great,ΓÇ¥ or ΓÇ£IΓÇÖm number one,ΓÇ¥ — and this one is great for when you donΓÇÖt want to get out of bed — ΓÇ£this is going to be the best day of my life!ΓÇ¥ What ever you say make sure you jump up when you do it for maximum effect. You will feel like a champion when you are done.
You Can Do Whatever You Like
So maybe IΓÇÖm misquoting T.I. a little, but the point is still the same. Know what it is that you enjoy and makes your happy, and when youΓÇÖre in a low mood get to it. I love baking and gardening. When I have a hard day at work, I love to come home and bake a batch of cookies. I always make sure I keep the ingredients I need to make a batch in the house. If you loved a corny 80’s show when you were a kid and it makes you laugh whenever you watch it, buy a season or two on DVD to have on hand when you need it. Keep your favorite CD on hand to lift your mood. Treat yourself and order your favorite meal for carry out. If you are a fitness freak take a jog or do a workout. I also love to buy myself a dozen roses when I feel down. They are pretty to look at and make me feel loved! Know what you like and when youΓÇÖre down, just do it!
The Best Gift
Gadgets get outdated, clothes go out of style and plants die. Unfortunately most everything that you can give or receive has a limited lifespan. A few years ago, I wanted to get my sister something she would be able to keep forever and something that would make her happy every time she looked at it. For her birthday, I made a list of 100 life accomplishments for her. They included some minor milestones like ΓÇÿlearning to walk,ΓÇÖ and some of her amazing accomplishments in her professional and personal life. Whenever she is down she can look at it to remind herself just how awesome she is! I suggest you make one for yourself and for your loved ones. ItΓÇÖs a great way to remember how wonderful you are when you are down!
So remember these mood changers next time you donΓÇÖt want to get out of bed. You will feel better and have a terrific day!
