Even if he scores an Emmy nomination for his work on the upcoming NBC sitcom Community, Joel McHale won’t abandon his hosting duties on E!’s weekly gigglefest, The Soup.
Well, as long as he’s getting a paycheck.
“If they go ‘Joel, weΓÇÖve decided not to pay you,’ then maybe I’ll find something else to do,” he told the TV Divagal at the Community panel this morning.
In fact, Joel hopes the viewers of The Soup who enjoy his weekly wrap-up of the most unintentional absurd moments in TV will check out his new show.
“Hopefully they’ll compliment each other and it will drive Soup viewers to Community,” says Joel, who plays an ex-lawyer who has to go back to school and actually get a law degree. (Yeah, that would be a good thing!)
“At the end of the week when The Soup has aired 12 times, that would bring Community 340 new people ΓÇô wait slightly more than that,” he joked.
“I love doing it, so hopefully they’ll work at the same time.”
And maybe we’ll get to see Joel make fun of himself. Freaky!
