LUXE GAL: Alexander McQueen Resort Wear & Hudson Furniture!
By Maureen Martin | December 8, 2011 | Entertainment, Food Fashion StyleThis week, Luxe Gal attended Hudson Furniture and the Alexander McQueen resort collection presentation in New York City’s Meatpacking district. As we entered the Hudson Furniture store we overheard a conversation between a client and interior designer … “So which of your homes will you be buying the Barlas Bayar table for?” FYI these lovely tables sell for $86,000!
Barlas Bayar’s lighting accessorizes a home the way statement jewelry makes an outfit. Innumerable yards of nickel chains are draped sensuously around lights. Barlas’s “Hudson Furniture Collection” also includes tables, mirrors and sculptures made of ancient or petrified wood. They are lovely and natural that you can imagine mythical forest creatures sitting at his 15-foot petrified wood table for a midday snack. ThatΓÇÖs why Fashionistas, interior designers and the NYC’s uber cool artistic elite sipped champagne, nibbled on organic canap├⌐s and mingled gingerly between furniture and mannequins sporting Alexander McQueen’s resort collect and yes the “Pippa Middleton” royal wedding dress.
McQueen’s collection remains influenced by Edwardian silhouettes. This means lengths are modest, the fabric is rich and the emphasis is the waist. We love it all! For more pics from the McQueen collection, visit our DivaGals Facebook page. Don’t forget to LIKE us!
