This Island In Mexico Is Ideal For a Wedding (And We Went There To Prove It!)

My reason for this trip was my cousin’s “hippie chic” wedding on the beach. Everything was beautiful: the sunset, the ceremony, the bride and the guests.

Accompanied by my bae (who I met on JFiix, read all about my adventure), we spent our first night in Cancun at the Crown Paradise Resort Hotel. This was the view that welcomed us. Cancun is located in the south east of Mexico, in the state of Quintana Roo, in the Yucatan Peninsula. It’s famous for its warm, white sand beaches, crystal clear, turquoise water and amazing sinkholes, great for snorkeling and scuba diving.

Later that night we went for dinner at an Indonesian restaurant at the exclusive hotel Nizuc with a stunning water garden view from the lobby. The food was as delicious as the view.

The next morning we traveled three hours north by van and by boat to the island of Holbox, Mexico, which has only 1,000 inhabitants. It is a natural wildlife reserve. Both iguanas and yours truly love to soak up the sun. We stayed at Hotel Las Nubes (The Clouds). Best Guacamole ever! I was totally loving the fresh tamarind juice margarita with a pico de gallo rim!

At the wedding, this diva was one of the singers. Hard to stop dancing when she was belting a tune!

This wedding crasher bit me, but I’m ok!

Back at the Crown Paradise Hotel we got upgraded to the honeymoon suite complete with huge terrace…

…and jacuzzi!

Mexico is home to many wonderful things including silver and opals. This beautiful bracelet was made by a Mayan designer and it’s geometric pattern means “infinity” in Mayan. I love the idea of something without any bounds … just like this trip … so this came home with me!
