Music Gal is up close and personal at the Soul Train Awards 2011, airing this weekend on BET and CENTRIC!

The 2011 Soul Train Awards took place in Atlanta, Ga., or as most people delightfully dub the city, “Hotlanta!” Though it was a bone chilling 45 degrees outside, the red carpet was ablaze with hot celebrities!

The finest men were out, including Kenny Lattimore, Anthony Hamilton (pictured with yours truly!), Common and Lance Gross. The ladies were flawnting their sexy and vibrant styles as well. Beauties that graced the carpet included Keri Hilson, Melanie Fiona, Marsha Ambrosius, Mary Mary, Amber Rose and celebrity blogger Necole Bitchie, who was rocking heel-less Giuseppe Zanotti shoes that don’t come out until December!

Marsha Ambrosius & Atlanta Housewife Phaedra Parks dished on their secrets to keeping fit during the holidays (tune in next week for our exclusive video!). Once the “train” departed inside the Fox Theater, everyone held on for the ride of the year!

Cedric the Entertainer was the host with the most … jokes that is! He kept the audience entertained from the start with his B-Boy dance routine and shared mid-show “Twitter updates” from people like Madea and Herman Cain. Toward the end of the show, he and former co star Terri Vaughn took viewers back to the Steve Harvey Show with a “Levita Jenkins and Ceddy” skit.

Some of the night’s performers included Lloyd, Cee Lo Green & Melanie Fiona, my personal pal Miguel and Mindless Behavior.

You won’t want to miss the tribute for the late Heavy D, which includes performances by Naughty by Nature, the Goodie Mob, Doug E. Fresh and Curtis Blow. Gladys Knight and Earth, Wind & Fire, the night’s honorees, got their props with performances by Marsha Ambrosius, Tamar Braxton and Mary Mary. Ms. Knight even got on stage for an impromptu performance, which rocked the house!

Earth, Wind & Fire closed out the show by rocking out with Bootsy Collins, Joe, Eric Benet and Robin Thicke!

By the time the show was over, audience members were feeling good and ready to keep the train going. The night eventually had to come to an end, and though “Neither one of us” (Gladys Knight) wanted to say goodbye, we all can “Sing a song” (Earth,Wind & Fire) and keep the good times rolling in our hearts and homes with a little “Love, Peace and Soooouuul!” Catch the broadcast of┬áSoul Train Music Awards 2011 Sunday, Nov. 27 at 9 p.m. on BET and CENTRIC.
