Malverde: El Santo Patrón tells the story of the legendary figure and religious icon, Malverde, who was a protector of the poor and underserved. It takes place in pre-revolutionary Mexico. And just in case you were wondering, Malverde is based on real historical events, but it’s still questionable if he really existed. “It’s this magic and mysticism” that makes this series so fascinating states star Isabella Castillo. Expect lush settings, fabulous costumes and a sweeping romance of a lifetime.

Malverde: El Santo Patrón premieres Sept. 28 on Telemundo.

Favorite Joe

For every path we take…. there are limitless one not taken. The drama series Ordinary Joe explores three of those for its main character Joe, who lives in three personas: Rockstar Joe; Nurse Joe and Officer Joe. So which is Joe is the supporting cast’s favorite? It’s pretty unanimous: the cast loves Officer Joe!

“I love the relationship they have,” says Charlie Barnett, who plays Joe’s best pal. “[Officer Joe] is still earnest. He’s single and out to mingle.”

Natalie Martinez, who plays Amy, Joe’s wife in one version, actually performs the single version of Officer Joe as well. “Boho Amy and Cop Joe,” are fun, she shares. “It’s so new and kind of refreshing.”

So what is it about Officer Joe that makes him so compelling? There’s just something about a man in a uniform. #WBWD James Wolk, who plays Joe, admits that his real-life wife loves it when he’s taping scenes in his NYPD blues.

Ordinary Joe premieres Monday, Sept. 20 on NBC.

Chucky Is Still F&*#ing Chucky!

Love the Chucky movie franchise, but afraid it won’t be as gory or as f*&#ng blue in language on the small screen? The executive team promised that there will be no lacking of either in the USA/Syfy limited series, with the network’s blessing. And because they have a TV budget, expect the deaths to be even more spectacular. There’s also a gay teen love story. So something old… and something new!

Chucky premieres Oct. 12 on USA and Syfy.
