Nerai Restaurant: A Trip To Greece Without Leaving NYC!By Chanel Omari | July 22, 2015 | Food Fashion Style, Travel
This #LifestyleWednesday we take you on a Greek journey, without leaving NYC!
Want to know where A-list celebrities like Kim Kardashian and her best friend, Jonathan Cheban, are dining these days in New York City? ItΓÇÖs all about Nerai for the Kardashians, and now for us Divas!
Lifelong friends Spiro Menegatos, Constantine Youssis, Dinos Gournos and executive chef Chris Christou have combined their diverse talents and experiences to create a modern and sophisticated Greek restaurant.
Located in a midtown Manhattan townhouse on the East Side, the fabulous dine in style as Chef Christou works to capture the nostalgia of his grandmotherΓÇÖs cooking, and then elevates it with his extensive and creative recipes.
Nerai offers the freshest seafood from across the globe: lavraki from Greece, Mediterranean dorado, black tiger shrimp from the Pacific, live lobster from Maine and more. All of the seafood is prepared to the guestΓÇÖs specifications, any of which can be accompanied by a choice of interesting sides. Sounds like our kind of Diva meal!
This sophisticated and hip restaurant offers one of my favorites and the best Norwegian cod, which is a delicious and lighter spin on ΓÇ£Bakaliaros.ΓÇ¥ It is pan-seared for a crisp skin, topped with orange-ouzo glaze and served with delicate skordalia wrapped in beets to resemble sushi rolls. You will leave the restaurant craving for more.
Divas, get ready for this! Internationally trained sommelier Mike Kalampoukas brings over 10 years of experience and expertise to Nerai’s wine experience. The list is comprised of over 100 different wines from around the world, and is carefully crafted to pair perfectly with each course offering. We Divas are all about good food and wine, and Nerai is the place to indulge.
Nerai’s d├⌐cor is absolutely breathtaking. The restaurant is decorated with white chic tables and a beautiful white bar; whitewashed walls have accents of Mediterranean blue. The interior evokes the feeling of dining outdoors on the isle of Mykonos. The Midnight room is filled with white-pillowed banquets, surrounding you with warmth and a peaceful tranquility. The main dining room has a nautical feel and a casual spirit. ItΓÇÖs perfect for a first date or for a Diva brunch with your gal pals after a long, hard working week.
Take it from this Diva, when you are dining at Nerai, you wonΓÇÖt be disappointed. The service is impeccable, the drinks are delish and the food just melts in your mouth. Visit Nerainyc.com for more information.
