Netflix’s Love In The Villa Puts Up A Battle! Should You Watch? Our Divalicious Review!By Delaina Dixon | August 31, 2022 | Entertainment
If you’re wondering what to watch to kick off your weekend, Love in the Villa is Netflix’s newest romantic comedy offering. But should you devote nearly two hours to the flick? Here’s our Love in the Villa review!
What is Love in the Villa about?
Julie, a third-grade teacher from the midwest travels alone to Verona, Italy, after being dumped by her boyfriend. After a series of travel mishaps she arrives, only to learn an attractive stranger has been double-booked in the same villa she’s rented for the week.
Annoyed by this inconvenience, both parties think of ways of getting the other to vacate the premises. But like any good rom-com, their battling behavior escalates into a real connection.
Should I watch Love in the Villa?
Sort of. The starring cast — Kat Graham and Tom Hopper — are ridiculously attractive, which is always good in a romantic comedy. There are gorgeous shots of Verona throughout the film, and Julie’s Italian wardrobe (you’ll find out why it’s Italian) is so pretty. But I have to admit, I was a little shocked about the level of viciousness the two perpetrate to convince the other to leave. These antics in the real world could lead to (more) incarceration and potentially death.
But, if you can get past these mean girl antics, Love in the Villa is an ok enough chick-lit flick — just add lots of wine.
