Yesterday, Nutrition Gal broke down the basics of a juice cleanse. Here, she gives her top tips to going on one.

So you’ve decided that a juice cleanse is for you. You’ve loaded up on fresh, organic vegetables, invested in a juicer and cleared your weekend schedule so you can really concentrate on your cleanse. Here are my quick cleansing tips to insure that your cleanse is a happy — and healthy — experience.

1. Prepare your body for a cleanse. Cut out all alcohol, cigarettes, sugars, caffeine, etc. ,and eat mainly fruits and veggies for a few days. This will help you physically prepare for the cleanse.

2. Prepare your life for the cleanse. Plan ΓÇ£projectsΓÇ¥ (perhaps things that you have been putting off) like cleaning, organizing, reading, light yoga, walks and beauty treatments that you can do while cleansing to take your mind off of being hungry

3. Ease into cleansing. Be sure to ease into your cleansing regimen by slowly substituting a juice for a meal or snack, then two, until you reach the desired goal of only juicing for a few days.

4. Relax. Make sure you have adequate time to rest, as resting is detoxifying as well!
