Hard to believe that the first Fashion Week of 2015 has come and gone! TV DivaGal slipped into the front row of several shows and enjoyed every fashionable minute! Here are three of my favorites:
Dom Streater. The Project Runway winner showcased her third collection at NYFW new darling spot Highline Loft. The pieces were a simple and elegant presentation of her signature graphics designs, conjuring images of regality from Victorian England, Japanese royalty and Rwandan femininity in over-sized shapes and embellishments. The diversity of models included women, men and models like Rain Dove (pictured up top, left), who choose to remain genderless. I enjoyed closing my runway experience with a taste of Premis Cognac, delish.
Sherri Hill. The DivaGals always look forward to our front row VIP treatment at the Sherri Hill show. The veteran designer never fails to please with her sparkly collection. Sherri used a vast array of multiethnic models to showcase her collection, a dazzling spectacle of jewel-encrusted bodices, sequined silhouettes, Swarovski scalloped necklines and plenty of velvet, taffeta, silk and lace everywhere. Sherri also presented an exclusive preview of her upcoming bridal collection. Her “I do” masterpiece? A pearl white midriff bearing lace beaded top with liquid beaded pants #JustStunning. See more of the collection on our DivaGals FB page!
Josh & Nicol. My favorite kind of fashion presentation is one where there is no front row at all. Which is why I loved noshing and schmoozing that the American debut presentation of Josh & Nicol, held in a cozy lounge inside SOHO House. Created by Nigerian-born designer Ufuoma Ekpecham, the line is named “after my children,” she shared.┬áUfuoma’s post-War World I inspired collection offers exquisitely tailored pieces with a masculine look and feminine appeal. Blazer, suits and gowns have strong lines that make a strong statement. “It was an era when women were empowered,” she shared. So who would be the ideal Josh & Nicol woman? “Olivia Pope ΓÇô I love Scandal,” Ufuoma gushed. We can totally dig it.
