NYFW Spring ’15 Lisete Pote @ Angola International Fashion Show!

There was a bit of a change this year at NY Fashion Week, but as any effortless fashionista knows, change is good!

Alongside hosting New York-based designers, the fashion metropolis also welcomed the Angola International Fashion Show. Showcasing collections hailing from the motherland, designer Lisete Pote presented the finale lineup at Manhattan’s Grove 49 with jaw-dropping headpieces and luxurious African designs.

African textiles are known for vibrant bolts of color; Pote’s conception of spring trends showcased just that! Cascading skirt sets adorned with the ever so classic flower power were a highlight. Pote’s use of elegant hues like gold and silver spruced up traditional African prints for an influential native look. Bold color blocking and Aztec schemes completed Pote’s artistic flare.

Star-studded attendees included Wu-Tang rapper Raekwon and singer/ actress Teyana Taylor, who also debuted her new clothing line, Unbothered. Other Angolan designs to hit this year’s NYFW runway were Dina Simao, Yhaniqua Lopes and Toure Designs. See more of Pote’s designs @ DivaGals FB page!
