This had to be one of our most fun NY Fashion Weeks ever, thanks to the numerous front row seats the DivaGals enjoyed. After all, if you are a fashion snob, then you know the old saying “if you are not in the front row then you weren’t there.”
Of course, a true DivaGal embraces humility,┬á so we feel honored just to attend!┬á Thanks designer friends. Here Luxe Gal’s personal fashion wrap-up.
We find ourselves with front row seats at NOLCHA, the emerging designers showcase, every season. For their second presentation on opening night, we watched several designers send their creative threads down the runway. There were body conscious pieces from Rinat Brodach, Mariana Valentina‘s gauzy detailing, a collective of menswear brands which included pants by Alberto, knitwear by Codice, shirts by Haupt and sports jackets by Carl Gross (designers pictured above), along with frilly pastels from Sofia Arana and Mimi Tran’s romantically draped gowns. It was indeed, a fashion presentation for every body.
Cameroonian designer Kibonen Nfi (pictured up top) presented along with fellow classmates of The Art Institutes. The future looks bright in the talented hands of this new group of designers, and we’re certain they’ll win your style hearts like they won ours. Lets just hope we can afford them.
Rolando Santana‘s springy offering of geometric patterned sheaths, sweaters and separates made us want to get color-blocked.
Desiguals was so much fun — a wonderful rainbow of colors on smiling models, including Adriana Lima, and my seat mate was actress/social activist Rosario Dawson, nice! Added bonus? My new bestie Rosario invited me to a cocktail reception for her newest endeavor, Studio 189, creating social change through fashion. Shop for a great cause and support this lovely woman of color with a heart of gold.
