NYFW Spring ’16: Malan Takes Us to Taiwan!
By Delaina Dixon | September 14, 2015 | Beauty, LifestyleHey DivaGals! New York Fashion Week is in full swing and we’ve already seen so much. We’ll be sharing our adventures all week!
We were delighted to be invited to witness the Spring ’16 Collection of acclaimed fashion designer and personal pal Malan Breton. Malan always amazes us, and this season didn’t disappoint. His latest collection is based on his recent travels to Taiwan, his homeland.
After opening the show with an opera performance, Malan presented his stunning selection of dresses, suits and gowns infused with traditional Taiwanese dying techniques, embroideries, silks and fibers.
Malan’s collection traveled through time, with Grecian-inspired gowns.
His embroidered shift dresses fitted at the waist were reminiscent of the fifties.
Malan conjured up the eighties through shocking color is a revealing coat dress adorned with a bow.
And he showed that his pieces remain as timeless as the women who he adorns.
The collection, presented at Style Fashion Week, also featured hair styled by Ecru New York, with tattoos by Black Lace Skin Jewelry.
Malan teamed up with cancer research charity, Sound Affects, and donated a finale gown that will be auctioned off during his NYFW Wrap Party on Sept. 15.
